One of the most beautiful examples of the ancient architecture of the city are the walls of the Byzantine fortress, there are 8 km long. The construction of the fortress walls took more than 12 years. From 50 towers, built-in walls, the most beautiful is so-called Red Tower (Kizil Kule), 29 m height.

Pirate past of Alanya left it’s tracks in the numerous caves scattered along the coast. You can get to them only from the sea. It is believed that in one of them Kızlar Magarasi – pirates were hiding the women who were abducted during the raids.
Damlatas Cave still enjoys deserved fame. It is about 15.000 years old. The cave has a fantastic, surreal shapes, there are lots of stalactites, stalagmites. Inside the cave, the temperature fluctuates between 22-23 degrees Celsius, and the humidity reaches 90-98%. The conditions created here by nature itself are very unique and good for the treatment of asthma and other respiratory diseases.
